The information below was taken from bits and pieces of
the Breeders Sweepstakes Frequently Asked Questions. You may have received
this with all the paperwork sent to you from AHA. With AHA it is not
called sanctioning but instead it is call recognized.
An AHA
Recognized Ride allows competitors to receive points and miles for all AHA
awards, including Breeders Sweepstakes and Achievement Awards. In order
for results to be recorded by AHA and count towards AHA Programs, riders and
owners must be current members. Rider/owners can sign up for a single
event membership for $10.
The
biggest incentive is for horses in the Breeders Sweepstakes Program. All
recognized rides will allow enrolled horses to earn points on all horses beaten,
regardless of breed. Points accumulated annually at recognized events
will be assigned dollar values with a payout before March 31 following the
competition year.
Sweepstakes incentive
for exhibitors need to enroll their horse for $100 for the competition
year.
