Re: [RC] Hay Woes.. - Barbara McCraryCan the hay be turned over to dry...then baled? We've sometimes had rain in June, just in time to ruin our oat hay (when we have grown it.) We have raked it, turned it over to dry, and then baled. As for anger, did you tell him not to cut? If so, did he override your orders? Or did you let him be the decision-maker, because he owns a custom hay-baling business? All in all, anger won't help, but I surely sympathize with your problem. It's a tough and unpredictable business, farming is. Ok, I need some moral support.. I'm sitting here with newly cut hay in the field and watching it get rained on. My hay guy cut it yesterday afternoon.. Don't ask me why.. I had been watching the weather and knew we had a high possibility/probability of getting stormns and a lot of rain. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
