Re: [RC] [RC] Upward Pateller Fixation - Kathy MayedaHave you also evaluated him chiropractically? Sometimes if he's out in the sacroiliac, it can cause problems with feet dragging and locking up - or it can make him go out chiropractically, too.
Again, Beau is always better with excercise. After a rainy winter he ALWAYS needs a chiropractic adjustment and he almost always will have an incident or two of locking up in his stifle before he gets back into shape. Once he's in shape, his back is more round, and he travels better, therefore less locking stifles and sore backs. Just like me - I always do better in my back and hip if I excercise!

I have an almost 5-year old Polish arab gelding who exhibits this by dragging his hind toes, and sort of "locking up." I've heard exercise is the first thing to try and I'm ponying him. He's getting started under saddle. A trainer (200 lbs) got on him on the other day and the poor horse didn't want to move!
