Re: [RC] values - Steph TeeterThis is exactly why I'm starting the WEE (world endurance exchange... or whatever) !Most of the endurance world feels the same way really. Historically the World Championships have been the best way for endurance people around the world to meet each other - riders, crew, owners, ride organizers - but this league (WEC) is out of range for most of us (cost, competitiveness, etc). There are other ways to travel and meet people and see the back country (South Africa has some incredible back country, as does New Zealand..). And the horse is the common thread - and endurance riding is a really good venue, partly because of all the world connections that exist. (partly thanks to Sh. Mo's quest). I think we can ride this beast (FEI endurance) and make of it what we want. It doesn't have to be about being the fastest, and it doesn't really have to be about FEI, tho currently FEI is the standard for International endurance, and it seems to be the what unites the efforts. I am going to continue to see what my “thrifty-nickel” horses are capable of and have a darn good time doing it. I am going to keep meeting new people and see the back country. I don’t see FEI ever wanting to change any of this…there would be nothing in it for them if they were to try. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
