My understanding is that anyone wishing
to take a rider option must have their horse pass a vet check before they can
RO. It does affect pull code because if the horse is not fit to continue, it’s
a vet pull. If it is FTC, it can be a RO.
Anyone trying to hide metabolic distress
as described below with a RO is not a very prudent person IMO.

May I ask why you would not want to see the vet?
Especially if you think there may be an issue with metabolics? I would think
you would want the vets aware, just in case things went from bad to worse...
Just my thoughts...

If a horse is pulled by
the rider...does the horse still have to present to the vet check? IN
other words, if a rider realizes via heart monitor that the horse's pulse is
not coming down as it should and the horse maybe has slowed way down and his
pee is dark...knowing that the chances are good that he is going to be pulled
by the vets for metabolics, the rider chooses to pull his horse himself to
avoid the vet check?? Is that possible?
