Not to bring back the original thread but I am wondering how many horses are competitive in 50 and/or 100 milers into their late teens and early 20's. By competitive I mean 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 hr 50's over relatively flat terrain (midwest). And I mean all other things aside like lameness etc...I'm talking a healthy, in condition horse that has over 1000 miles of endurance competition already and shows no signs of wanting to stop.
