Ancient horse ancestors may have migrated by land bridges but at some point after the continental shift there was an event or climate sequence where they died out until re-introduced by the Spanish new world explorers. If you are travel on hwy 84 through Idaho and need to take a break it is a neat exhibit especially if you have scientific oriented kids with you.
