Re: [RC] [RC] Trot vs Canter - Nancy Sturm

But I'm no DQ! Is there a measurable way to determine if a trot is working, extended, or otherwise?

Maybe someone who rides dressage can answer this more accurately, but eons ago when I was a lower level dressage rider, I think I learned that in the various type of trots the cadance remains the same but the length of the stride changes. If that was correct, then an extendd trot would have a longer stride than a working trot. That longer stride is also associated with the resulting suspension.

Or my memory is shot and it was just one instructor's opinion.

Nancy
