Re: [RC] First 50 - Diane TrefethenToo long ago to remember percentages but pain? THAT I remember!My first ride was both my first 50 and my horse's first ride. He had a comfortable trot and not so comfortable a canter. I have two memories of that ride. 1) The lunch stop must have been just long enough for my body to say, "Ahhh... we're through". 5 miles out of lunch I remember wishing desperately to be able to SIT, as in CANTER. But that hurt too :( 2) They had a live band and dancing after the awards dinner. I was too tired and too sore to do anything but go back to my sleeping bag and crash. I remember it was slightly downhill from the dinner tables to my camp - and I do mean SLIGHTLY. But I couldn't do it.
