[RC] LDs Are Different - shermanBecause the 100s are significantly tougher on the horses even with their higher level of conditioning, same as 50s still getting pulled at the same rate as LDs even with their higher level of conditioning because the longer miles are in fact harder on the horses. Makes sense to me. Kathy Yep and you would think the 100 mile horses were even more prepared than the 50 mile horses - but alas the metabolic pull rate for the 100 mile horses is a little over 3 times that of the 50's. On average, you are dealing with a more prepared and more experienced ridership on 50s, so you may be comparing apples and oranges. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
