Re: [RC] Cattle on Land (was Cronin Ranch) - Barbara McCrary
I firmly believe that the best land management is done
by a rancher, farmer or lumberman who is trying to make a sustained
and sustainable living off his land.

Your are right and I have for the 25yrs on Mt Diablo
until the goverment stole the land. Land management is a complicated
issue, however if it isn't broke don't fix it.
If you want to see how beautiful land can be with cattle grazing
on it, do the Lost Padres ride on Santa Margarita Ranch.
They move their cattle to prevent overgrazing and most of the pastures
are covered with beautiful grasses and very few, if any, noxious weeds
are around.
I've done it for the last 2 years and love riding among the
big, beautiful, and mellow cows!
