Couldn't have said it better. I hope others feel the same and will stand and fight for our trail rights. I am all for sharing but will not be bulldozed over easily or quietly.

I think what galls us all the most is that too many times those who make
the decisions are mainly concerned about their political images, know
nothing about the subject they are addressing so depend on the advice of
their wealthy backers and/or that of the liberal, ecological types.
Then they dictate useless, counterproductive, FRUSTRATING rules that
either unfairly elevate the rights of other groups over equestrians or
eventually yield the opposite result of what was ostensibly intended.
Furthermore, if they had only bothered to speak with those of us
familiar with the problem(s), they would have had intelligent, cogent
solutions to implement. So the result is that in the short run, we are
angered and thwarted in OUR legitimate desires and in the long run, the
stated goals of the "project" are often not realized... a truly
lose-lose situation.
We see this over and over on our trails. We lose them because the
ultra-rich and/or "ultra ecologists" give money and offer up
half-baked
ideas which are then accepted, ie, horses irreparably damage the trails,
horse feces and horse hay are the PRIMARY causes of the spread of
noxious weeds, cattle damage the ground and kill oak trees,
competitions, PER SE, are damaging to all ecosystems.
