Sadly, I’m back
from my ride attempt which ended up to be a very long drive. We (3 other riders
and myself, trailer pooling) thought we could get above the dense smoke and
headed from Auburn to Castle Peak area. No luck, still dense smoke. Huge billowing column of
smoke coming from the Skillman/Washington area. We continued on thinking maybe
Hwy 89 out of Truckee, nope, still smoked in. Maybe take 395N out of Reno…too smoky that direction too. We thought about going out
into the desert east of Reno, but good sense finally took over and we turned
around and came home to more dense smoke (:<( I just hope it clears soon.
So, I guess what I was
really talking about was 2 days of 50s because I don’t know of any rides
around here that you get credit for a 100 by doing two days of 50s. Does AERC
actually allow that?
Kathy
Here,s a good one for all
you folks that seem to know stuff. Some rides in the NE
region will offer a 2day 100 AND a 50 50. What,s up with that???? The only difference
I can see is on a 2 day 100 you have to pay up front for both days and if
you don,t finish the second day you lose your money and get 0 credit for the
whole ride. On a 50 50 you can enter a day at a time & if you don,t finish
the second day you get your miles or award for the first day. The horse does
the same work & the points are the same as far as I can figure. I always
thought it was a bit bizarre. A rose is a rose, but maybe there,s something I,m
missing. I wonder if any other regions do this.
