Re: [RC] LD, 50, 100 - rides2farI agree with all that, but doesn't something happen physiologically to the> horse when pushed up to 50 miles? I believe they have to actually take a drink or eat. They can complete an LD without either. It is quite a leap to > go from> 50 to 100, but if a rider can do a 2 day 100, then it doesn't seem like such> a big jump. I still don't know why everyone thinks of a 2 day 100 as a step you could take before doing a 100. I've done 8? (I think) 100's (and several 75 and 80s that were supposed to be 100's) but I've never done a 2 day 100. Sounds too hard. >g< I don't like the idea of all the riding being done in heat. Don't get the benefit of the early early and late late cool riding, or change of feel as day goes on to night. Don't like the idea of getting back on after the soreness sets in. Don't like the idea of dragging the poor horse out again after the let down. I think there's a lot to be said for doing it all in one day. :-) Angie ____________________________________________________________ Bills adding up?
