[RC] Tanking up - Michael MaulThe latest copy of Equus has an article titled "Prevent Heat Stress".In the article, it states "Let the horse drink his fill as you walk him out. A hot horse needs to take in as much water as he wants to replace what he lost through sweating. And don't worry about the temperature of the water. One myth that still crops up is the notion that letting a hot horse drink cold water will cause colics and cramps. But there is no scientific basis for that fear." Barney Fleming DVM is quoted in the article as well in a section on electrolytes.
