Lucie, Have you looked into Hay in a
bag. http://www.lucernefarms.com/ Lisa
Brooks had this at Nimblewell Challenge. Her horse, Charger, has COPD and she
feeds this all of the time. It may be cost prohibitive but good for taking to
rides. There is some with molasses and some with soybean oil. I am trying
to get my feed store to carry it. There is not a dealer in Texas.

Thanks for the info on the Hay, The Granddaughter's
riding instructor found hay here locally, and I was
able to make a trade with a girlfriend.. She had some
square bales of timothy that she had paid 5$ a bale
for.. (big heavy bales) and she is willing to trade me
for my bales of hay when mine is cut and put up..
Which as it looks, may be never, due to all this RAIN.
We have more storms coming in today and tonight..
maybe 2-3 inches.. Yuck!
But I'm keeping all the replies I got in order to
have something to fall back on if none of us can get
any hay put up. Just a week of hot dry weather will
do! (someone send that our way.. I'll even take a
short drought)
That being said.. I so appreciate all the good, caring
advise and information I receive on these discussion
groups.. I know we argue alot.. well on some of them
we do, but, over all, folks are ready to pitch in and
help when all is said and done.
THANKS AGAIN!!!
