[RC] Portable corral vs. tied-to-trailer? - Betsy Thomas

I realize there are other options like hotwire/tposts, or hi-ties. But if given the choice between plain old tying to the trailer, and portable corrals, what are the pros and cons of each? I can imagine corrals are comfier for the horse and horse won't get hung up in the rope, but what do I have to be wary of for the corrals assuming I can borrow some or buy some before a ride? Tying to the trailer seems the simplest for me, but, like, is that safe? My pony ties well and she has spent time happily tied to a trailer, but I'm not sure about overnights unless she did it with previous owners. What do I need to know?

I may or may not be trying an LD this coming weekend, or we might wait a few weeks or months, just figuring out options. Horse did really well on her ride today and a local, easy LD is coming up. Working out logisitics.

Thanks for helping out this newbie.

Betsy
