Re: [RC] out of pasture - Barbara McCrary

Ahhhh, so you had one of those "leap sideways out from under you" horses, too?
I sold mine a couple of years ago to my daughter for her teenager.  The granddaughter is an excellent rider, fearless, and she bounces (unlike her Grandma.)
And he is about 15.1.  The little horse I have now DOES NOT SPOOK (isn't that grand?) and he is only 14.2.  I love it!

Yes, I do like that my "out of pasture" horse is only 14:2 on tip toe with new shoes.   I still need a step but it's worth it.  She thinks she's as big as anybody and can trot with the big horses, if I let her.
And with age, 12, she has pretty much quit leaping sideways out from under me <g>

I am with you Dot.  I am just thrilled to finish 25 miles now and not hurt too very much.  I am starting a fat pony or 'Porkchop'!  My new saying is 'last but not least!'.  She is just a hoot and I can get on her from the ground!  Although she has no withers and the saddle tends to roll.  I like the fact that her spooks are almost non-existent!!  Jeanie
