Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] re: out of the pasture - Kathy MayedaI have also done LD's due to lack of time to condition. I miss doing 50's though. I'm going to attempt a 50 on my 18 y.o. mare that has done a couple of LD's recently and no 50's. I resisted doing endurance with her because I thought I should be concentrating on getting my younger horse sane enough to do endurance. But she's doing so well, what the heck - she used to be a wild child so it never occurred to me to ride endurance with her. Put a couple of years or so with her and have fun. It helps that I just started leasing my experienced endurance horse out and my lessee is getting me out to condition!

Lol I'm not sure I could do a 50. I've only done 3 25's so far and I like that distance. We usually come in around middle-of-the-pack so I'm not sure a 50 is warranted anytime soon. What is your opinion? Others have told me when the 25's or 30's become too easy, it's time to move up. I don't consider them too easy for me or my horse yet. She did quite a few 50's between 2002 and 2004 (previously owner). I haven't. I work full time and have 2 kids, so conditioning riding is usually only on weekends right now. Not sure I want to push into a 50 with that level of conditioning. I'm still learning.
