Re: [RC] [RC] Trailering across country--Tips, advice, etc wanted - RavenGet some Horse Quencher~!!! It was a life saver for my ponies, when I drove from MN to CA...in hot August. I offered HQ water at stops and ovenite, I gave the ponies a bucket of Horse Quencher water, as well as a bucket of plain old water. They would drink the HQ water...ASAP. <;o] Can you remove the stall divider in your trailer...instead of tying them back? Use a fly mask to protect his eyes when you travel with the trailer drop down windows down (make sure your trailer has window guards!). I didn't take my ponies out at stops, but I made sure I stop every 3-4 hours for at least 20-30 minutes, and these gave their legs a break from the road movement. These stops were usually fuel stops. Don't forget lots of easy to eat snacks for you, as well as cold refreshing water. Have you asked your vet about using "Ulcer Guard" before/during the road trip? I gave my ponies Fastrack during the trip. Have a super safe fun filled trip!
