Re: [RC] Trailer Shopping - Laney HumphreyHi Beth,I agree that horse safety should be first on the list of options! YOu don't say what your towing vehicle is. That should be a huge part of the equation. I see far too many trailers being pulled by very inappropriate vehicles. It's not just the pulling power that matters; braking ability is even more important and there are other considerations too. There is information out there, as well as great websites. I know the owners of EquiSpirit have done a lot of research on the topic. For better or worse, straight loads are not as popular as slant loads any more. This only matters in that you have far fewer choices. They also don't hold their value as well since they aren't as desirable. And slant loads offer much greater convenience and comfort (in my opinion) than do straight loads. You also didn't say where you're located. There are brands and models that are popular in some parts of the country but not others. EquiSpirit and Platinum are both high end brands. You don't have to go that high up the ladder to get good quality. If there is a large Horse Expo or similar horse event near by, go to it and cruise through the trailer displays. Being able to see lots of different brands and models is the best way to narrow down what you really want and need. Good luck! Laney Beth Walker wrote: I'm just starting to look at trailers.
