Re: [RC] need help - riding a trotting horse - Beth WalkerMy old horse was like that ... TONS of lift, looked really pretty, but I couldn't post his trot to save my life. I would double-bounce, and slap down in the saddle. I two-pointed with him, because it was the only way I could ride that trot. We covered lots and lots of miles that way.On May 19, 2008, at 8:37 AM, Nancy Sturm wrote: Our adult daughter bought a nice mellow off track Standadbred when she decided to return to riding. She's slim and athletic and I really could not understand why she was having such a hard time learning to post. That was until I rode the horse. He's is a wonderful horse to handle, but he's a real trick to ride and had a huge bounding trot that shoots you way up over his shoulder. We still have him, but rarely ride him. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
