I'm quoting his jockey, Kent Desormeaux. If you
missed Big Brown acclerating away from the field, find a way to see it.
Reminiscent of Secretariat.
I say before every race that I don't care if I win
any money as long as everyone's okay...I won $140
on Derby day and cried my eyes out. I lost $20 today but am absolutely thrilled
and can't wait for the Belmont.
I learned about Arabs through my fascination with
Thoroughbreds, and now I have my own sweet gelding to treasure, the most
gorgeous, loving horse you can imagine. And fast! Although I don't have a trailer or a truck to haul one, now that
Samurai is six, strong, and fit (after three years of LSD), I'm hoping to find a
way to get him to some rides in the next year or so.
Anyway - no matter how negatively you view
horseracing, you might not want to miss Big Brown's try for the Triple Crown.
This could be it, after 30 years...
