[RC] Hong Kong Summer Weather - k s swigartTruman said: Not that familiar with the Hong Kong summer weather. However, in August in Atlanta I am familar - hot (mid to upper 90's not unusual) and humid - it is the Southeast after all. How much worse is Hong Kong? Average temperatures for the month of August in Hong Kong are about 10 deg F hotter than Atlanta, Georgia. And it is significantly more humid (however it is also more likely to rain, which may help, but not much if it is hot and raining). This difference can probably be explained by the 11 degrees of latitude difference between Atlanta (~33 N) and Hong Kong (~22 N). These latitudes make Atlanta climate defined as "temperate" and Hong Kong's as "tropical." Tropical can be a LOT worse than temperate. Both of them are both coastal and on the "wet side of the island" (which contributes to the higher humidity than say, California (which is temperate, coastal, but on the "dry side of the island.") kat Orange County, Calif. :) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
