I know Baskhari with Lynda Corry up lost a jugular and went on to complete 100's. Seems weird but supposedly their body compensates and creates more secondary vessels (did I hear that right or dream it?) I know another rider who retired a very nice horse because he was down to one. She had a fear that he'd need treatment and damage the other but as you see, that can happen standing around in the field.
