Re: [RC] [RC] GPS Units - AprilGet the 205, hands down. If you ride anywhere other than the flat, open plains, the high sensitivity receiver makes a big difference. The screens on the 205 are configurable, too, so if you want larger data fields just choose 3 or 2 or even 1 field per screen instead of 4. And you have 3 configurable screens. The battery life is an issue, but I just take a $10 USB charger that takes AAs to vet checks and top off the charge for 20-40 minutes and that works on long 50s. I actually have the 305, which is the 205's twin except it can handle accessories like the heart rate monitor, cadence sensor (for bikes) and the foot pod. Get the 205. :-) Or the 305 if you're at all interested in HR data for you or the horse or think you might be down the line. You can't upgrade the 205 to take a HRM. The two GPS's that I am looking at are the 205 and the 201 units . The Garmin 201 has a longer battery life , 15 hours compared to 10 hours with the 201 . The plus on the 205 is that it has a high sensity receiver that they say gets better coverage in the trees . The 205 is a smaller screen but is that harder to read than the 201 ? So if any of you out there are using either unit could you let me know what you think of them and most important are they easy to use :-) Thanks =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
