[RC] Kentucky derby. . equus magazine.ho boy - Sheila_LarsenI thought I could stay out of this discussion : ) but I read one article and a vet said she looked at the videos over and over again and it appeared that the problem may have started as they turned into the home stretch where she may have tweaked a pastern when she changed leads and then subsequently over loaded the other one. But I was reading in Equus magazine the other day that there may be a way to tell if a horse is going to have problems in advance which is by monitoring the amount of time between heart beats. Interesing article and wouldn't be great to know before hand if any ONE of us is going to have a problem with our horses. Anyway an interesting study. As for my horses galloping across the pasture, do I say Ho, not I, I just put my hands over my eyes and turn away because sometimes I can't stand to watch what may happen as I found my neighbor's horse with a broken leg and don't even want to see it happen. Horses lend us the wings we lack. Author Unknown =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
