We have 46 horses here, in rural Kansas, and every one (as well as cats and
dogs AND goats) are vaccinated for Rabies. All our animals run free on 240
acres so are "potentially exposed" to rabid skunks, raccoons, roaming dogs and
cats, and any other mammal carrying the virus.
I figure that since Rabies is fatal and is transferable, a vaccine is
cheap insurance.

Does everyone get their horses vaccinated for rabies? I'm
asking, because I don't know of any vets around here that include a rabies
vaccine in their normal protocol. I just looked up the web site of one
