He's got a nice 7-8mph pace that's very easy to post, and then a faster 
pace.

Tell all, Kris.  How in the world do you post to the pace, a lateral gait? 
That's actually how we got Twist started trotting.  We found if we tried to 
post to his pace, he would switch to trot.  I wonder if there are paces and 
paces.  Twist lurches from side to side like a ship on a rough sea.
