Re: [RC] [RC] trailer/truck problem - Karen SullivanWell, yes......and unless you fix this you will some day do a turn on a slope and bring the underside of the gooseneck down on your truck tailgate or worse, the side rails....and it will look like MY truck! Trailer dealers can raise your trailer by putting blocks under the trailer and axles.....a friend of mine had it done, can't remember what it cost...but could check. given the damage to my 1 ton dodge...I am seriiously considering converting IT to a flatbed...at this point, would cost the same as repairing the back of the truck! My husband just traded in the old dodge and got a 2005 one ton dodge diesel..Turns out the sides and tail gait of these newer trucks are higher than the older models. In order for there to be enough clearance between the nose of the gooseneck and the top of the tailgate/sides of the truck bed we had to lengthen the gooseneck hitch so much that now the trailer sits on a slant...about 2 inches higher in the front. Any ideas how to fix this other than putting a flatbed on the truck?? (I read somewhere something about repositioning the axles of the trailer??) ________________________________ Planning your summer road trip?
