I have no answer for that question, but I do know that not
everyone flattens them, or covers them. I do flatten them, and they are so flat
that I don’t need to cover them with duct tape. I use a vice grip to do
it and there is never any bruising…and Sonny’s boots are a very
snug fit. Yes, they are always a small struggle to get on.
