[RC] re: tying up- Sherman - Cynthia LeDoux-Bloom

Dear Sherman [or anyone else],
Please contact me if the following info seems applicable at
cledouxatcwodotcom.

In 2003, our new 10 yo old arab gelding was tying up.  I researched and
contacted the BEST research DVMs in the biz.  We contacted DVMs and [imo
expert equine physiologists] Susan Garlinghouse and Beth Valentine.  Being
a scientist myself, we all approached the data colllection and variables
one by one, following their research along w/ our weekly blood work. 
Abstract:  Kosmos [SJ Kerensky] has NEVER tied up again, has a 100% 100
miler completion record, including Tevis 07, place Emily as a junior top 5
and 10 a couple of years in a row...

Having a horse w/ a known issue is a blessing!  You can likely fix it
(pers com Garlinghouse 2004).  We did.  We know how.  Let me tell you what
we all discovered.
