Re: [RC] [RC] Enlarged Man Sack - Kathy MayedaDrako had pigeon fever, never ran a temp and never lost his appetite. He had a chest lump that wouldn't go away, that initially the vet thought that he was just kicked. Didn't go down after a week and told my vet who was vetting a ride I was volunteering for and he said to bring him into the clinic, and sure enough it was pigeon fever. The lump hung around for about a month. He was going crazy in the hospital pen - no loss of energy - and it still hadn't opened. The moment I put him back into the pasture with the vet's blessing, it burst open, but didn't completely drain. I had the vet out to enlarge the opening, and they just opened it right there on the ground, didn't care about contamination because it's so endemic in the area anyway (San Jose).
I would get a culture done to make sure.
