[RC] Another Question - k s swigartJuli Belchard said: Impression: Evidence of a GradeII-III stress reaction of the tibia including periosteal edema, bone marrow edema and edema in subcuateous fat adjacent to the anterior tibia. Mild edema in the posterior subcutaneous fat is also noted. No obvious fracture lines are identified" Ok, all you more medically minded folks out there. What the heck is all that? That's a fancy way of saying "shin splints." The ortho said it was consistant with shin splints, but the pain in on the lateral side of my leg, not over the shin area, and my symptoms are not consistant with shin splints. It may be that your muscles are compensating for the shin splints so you are feeling the pain elsewhere. (E.g. When I sprained my ankle the muscle just above the knee on the outside got sore from walking funny in order to avoid pain in my ankle...and this soreness persisted for months after the ankle pain was long gone). kat Orange County, Calif. :) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
