RE: [RC] [RC] Livestock Marker removal - David LeBlanc
Heh – that’s a good one.
We let it wear off, too, but something that I’ve found will get
nearly anything off is mechanic’s hand cleaner. I’d use the stuff with lanolin –
put it on dry, rub it in, then rinse. The lanolin helps the skin, too, and is
likely a LOT less harsh than some of the alternatives, like lighter fluid.
I haven’t tried this on a horse, so use some caution. Back when
I was turning wrenches, I found it would get ink out of clothes – all sorts of
things come out with this stuff.

Two years ago, I moved my mare
into a new boarding barn.. about a week after we came back from an endurance
ride. She was in quarantine for a while, in plain sight of most of the
boarders walking in/out of the ranch and everyone commented on how lucky I was
to find such a pretty horse at the feedlot! :P
I've found a few nights of blanketing rubs the marker right off.. ;)
