It would lock up periodically in later years but I figured out that I could get on my knees and lean all the way back with my shoulders touching the floor and get up slow & straight and it would be fine. I had no idea what was going on. Thought my knee was jumping out of the groove or something. By the time it locked up for good I'd done so much damage that they just removed the whole thing. I rode within a week. It didn't feel great but not that bad either. What has helped my knees most since is learning how to help them out. Lean forward before you get out of a chair. Learn to ride without "standing and sitting".Necessity will make you just loosen the ankles, knees & hips, rock forward & up and just sort of "unfold", then let the joints absorb the shock of your descent. My knee with no meniscus actually feels better than the "good" one these days. Maybe I'll get that one taken out. :-) Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
