The mare would come up and try to steal the dominant gelding's (I always seem to have a gelding as the top horse) hay. He would do the usual warning stuff, which she ignored. Eventually he would turn around and let her have it in the side with both rear feet. She would grunt, and walk off. The next feeding the same thing happened. This went on for two years. I was glad to see the owner loose interest and sell her.
