RE: [RC] [RC] carbon monoxide or lack of oxygen? - Nancy MittsAnother thing to think about---if you are using a catalytic heater, or just like to sleep with a window or vent open. Under the right wind/air convection conditions the CO from your neighbors generator or idling truck can enter your living quarters. We've had it happen and set off our detector. Over time a Catalyic pad can become damaged and malfunction, emiting CO. Battery operated CO's are CHEAP, about $30. You should also have one in your home if you have a gas furnace or hot water heater. The newer Olympia catalytic RV heaters have a low oxygen sensor which will shut them off when oxygen gets down to a certain level. Can't use them above a certain elevation though.
