[RC] Thanks Steph for the President's Cup reporting - Lucie Hess

I'm sitting in my bed this morning, cup of coffee on
my side table and laptop on my lap. I'm reading my
first "fix" of the day of Ridecamp, and being in the
UAE vicariously. As I look out my window I see a
whiteout snow, swirling around my house.

But as I close my eyes, I see the desert, the horses
cantering across the sands and I see the magnificent
Endurance Village.
I hear the sounds of multiple voices, of languages I
will never know a word of, shouting as the winners
cross the finish line.. I smell the odors of the
Middle East, the food, the spices, the perfumes worn
by women and the men, all mixed with the wonderful
smell of horses and leather.

Thank you for bringing those memories back to me..

I'm so sorry Meg and Troy didn't finish, but after
getting to know her, I know she did her best and she
didn't want to do anything that was going to be a
problem to Troy. I'm glad she was able to give this
ride a go... You never know unless you try.

I hope our other US rider finishes.

Thank you for pointing out to everyone that Murdoch is
an Appy! 14th of 101 is pretty darn good, especially
since there were so many pulls

You do know I get all gooey and silly over that horse.
He's a great representative for the Appy breed,
although he is an Australian horse, he is from US Appy
bloodlines. Well, I will also admit to him being 1/2
Arab, that doesn't hurt either!

What happened to Sheika Madyia? I saw she pulled
early in the ride.

I hope to hear more from the UAE, thank you for
transporting me away from our blizzard. (If it was
only for a moment.) It seems I need to go feed my
horses and my coffee cup is empty.

Hmm, how many layers do I need to put on today?
