Re: [RC] BCs without weight - Diane TrefethenKristen A Fisher wrote:So do you think the ONLY thing that should be left in the BC calc is the subjective part? If so, maybe AERC should standardize that means of evaluation. If you speak to 3 different vets about how they actually assign the 1-10 numbers for each parameter, you will get 3 different answers. As long as the same vet or team of vets do all the BC judging, the fact that different vets use different numbers for parameters doesn't matter. No matter how harsh the vets are at one ride, the horses they judge will not be in direct competition for the same BC award as the horses that are being judged leniently at a different ride. The raw numbers don't count in Regional or National standings, just who won. So if the BC judging is tough at, say Swanton, but lenient at Virginia City, ALL the Swanton horses will be judged to the same, tough standard while at the Virginia City ride, with more lenient vets, ALL those horses will receive the same, "soft" judging. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
