Re: [RC] [AERCMembersForum] Weight Divisions - Lucie HessAn interesting idea, Joe... Here's a comparison: NATRC has only 2 weight divisions, Lightweight and Heavyweight. Lightweight is 100 pounds to 189 pounds and Heavyweight is 190 and above. (with all tack) Note that lightweight riders have to weigh at least 100 pounds, so some folks do have to use a "heavier" saddle or carry some weight. NATRC does allow folks that are on the border of heavyweight to ride lightweight, but it not the other way around. (So if you are heavier than 189 pounds and you want to ride lightweight you can.) It just means your horse might be at a disadvantage. Personally, I don't mind 2 weight divisions, but I bet you'll get some interesting coments.
