Re: [RC] [RC-Digest] Vol: 03.4616 - Chipnml

My farrier hot shoes and uses side clips.  Hot shoeing, according to him, seats the shoe more securely on the foot.  I hadn't heard about being able to use fewer nails if clips are put on, but the reason I use them is it prevents a certain amount of microscopic "jiggling" of the shoe.  I haven't heard anyone come out against these two procedures.  I've been competing for around 20 years, and I have never had a shoeing-related injury and never lost a shoe.  My farrier is considered one of the best in the state, and I feel very fortunate to have him!
