I bought my Terrains at the start of the 2006 ride season, so last April I think - I looked on the Ariat website and they seem to be the same styling...have you seen something different?

 

The Terrains provide ankle support and I like the lace up the best. They were comfortable from the minute I put them on. The sizing is the Ariat sizing which tends to run a little wider than most - I ended up getting a smaller size than I might normally wear. I clean them once in awhile but they have been through swamp and mud adventures and are still in great shape.
