[RC] Need input on feeding monster horses - Lonnie Ruesch
A neighbor was in a bad accident, is in the hospital 120 mi. away in a coma, and I have been asked to feed her animals. I have a 14h Arab cross and a l3.3h Icelandic, and her horses make mine look like "babies!" They are not only very tall - 16-17H - but the one has to be very over weight also - are there ribs in there? They were being given slightly moldy alfalfa. I have taken over my grass hay - which is baled in baby bales - 50 lbs. Additionally, it is very cold - for us - high teens @ night, up above freezing in day, but w/a biting wind. So how much do I feed these guys? I am less than 5', and these two horses seem so HUGE to me!
