Re: [RC] LQ Trailers Questions - Mike Lewis

Tagalong post here. I'm considering having LQ built into my '02 Silver
Star. A couple of companies in Indiana were recommended to me, but the one
I was considering most strongly appears to have gone out of business.

Can anyone recommend a really good LQ builder in the Carolinas, Georgia,
Tennessee, or Alabama? I'm heading to Iraq for six months in April; hoping
to be able to have LQ put in my COLD TRAILER upon my return--just in time
for the '09 ride season.

I didn't want to haul an empty trailer all the way to Indiana, anyway...
:-)

Thanks,

Mike

Subject: [RC] LQ Trailers Questions

I have a 3 horse slant with 6' shortwall Featherlite alum.
built by Don Johnson trailer sales. They build the LQ
aftermarket. The only problem I've had with my trailer is
the fridge, (Norcold brand) it's going on 2 years old and
it (for the 2nd time) has displayed an "N" code which the
first time was reset by a trailer repair place in my area.
I have it winterized now and have the doors open and turned
off for the winter, but in the spring I have to have it
reset again and likely will have to get a new fridge. (I
need to learn how to reset it myself, just in case it goes
out at a ride.) Mine doesn't have a slide out, it's usually
just me or one other person so it's not large, but comfy,
has a shower stall and toilet that are separate, it tows
very nice with an F250 diesel. (I will be bumping up to a
heavier truck though.) It seems very well built and I love
having it, especially at cold rides!!!

Hi all - We're used trailer searching, with the idea of
doing some
longer trips. What are you opinions, expertise and
experience with 7'
vs. 8' wide trailers? Slide out vs. not? All aluminum vs.
Aluminum
over steel? I know 4-star and Hart are top-of-the-line;
I've also
heard Cimarron and Elite are high quality. Any other yeas
or nays?
