Re: [RC] susan favro and information passing - Mike LewisI had a junk e-mail "ghost written" and sent to everyone in my MS Outlook address book using my e-mail account (the one that is affiliated with Ridecamp, and used only for Ridecamp) earlier today. Evidently this is a problem for other Ridecamp users as well, as I have seen such junk e-mails from legitimate users here. I'm going to have to unsubscribe this account and re-register with an account on Yahoo or something similar that does not have an address book affiliated with it. Not sure why/how Ridecamp users e-mail addresses are being used in this manner, but know that anytime you post on the web the address is public... She uses it for her own use. If you really want to get alot of spam all you have to do is open and forward jokes ect along to your friends. If you cut and paste and send in a new email you are fine , if not cookies go back and they sell spam lists to lots of businesses. My business computer is not even hooked to the internet. I never forward anything on without cut and paste. To get on a mailing list all you have to do is fill out a magazine subscription or an entry form at some mall or show to win something.
