I don't get it. << Well, out here, that is exactly what the Sheriff's department told me to do. The county does not have animal control officers - the city does, but the county does not. Since I have dogs of my own and love dogs, I could not bring myself to shoot a dog to kill it, but I would sure shoot it with a cheap paintball gun to splatter it with paint, make the dog yelp, and teach both the dog and the owner a lesson. Better make the dog yelp in pain than to have my horse get bitten, me fall off onto the gravel road, get hurt, be out of work, have to get a lawyer to sue the neighbor, in the meantime, have to sell my horses because I could not afford to feed them, maybe even have my house foreclosed on because I was out of work and could not pay the mortgage,etc... So yes, I WILL SHOOT THE DOG IF I HAVE TOO!!! Humans are more important than the dog who can not be controlled by it's owner.
