I think it would be better than a pellet gun. All you really need is enough force to make the paintball splash, if the idea is to provide proof of guilt.I also liked the idea of just taking a picture, if the idea is to provide proof. The picture will also provide proof that the dogs are attacking in a pack -- which as mentioned, is a *lot* more dangerous than a single dog.
