Will people please consider putting the following organizations on their
mental list of "things I might donate the profit from a ride to:"
 
  - Backcountry Horseman of American (or your local
     affiliate)'s Legal or Trail Fund
  - AERC Trail Fund
  - The Equestrian Land Conservation Resource
  - Your local park's "Friends" group, if any.   (Friends
     groups are empowered by law in many states to donate
     $$ directly to a publically-owned park/forest/F&W
     area *without* having the money go back into
     the state's general fund.  The money stays in the
     park.)
 
If we could just get these added to peoples' mental list...
