RE: [RC] re: age per miles - ft bragg nc area - Ranelle Rubin
That's exactly what I have to do with Marc if I ride alone. He made a request when we first started riding that even when riding with someone, I call him from my cell when I am "off the trail"..

I ride alone most of the time.
I NEVER leave on a ride without either calling my husband who is at his office 5
miles away or (usually) leaving a note on the kitchen table with time of
departure and route. We have landmark names for areas of trail, so I
list the landmarks in the order of my progress on the trail. If I were to
be seriously overtime, my husband would know where to start looking, and would
no doubt access the trail in reverse of my riding direction. I feel so
much safer that way, and it's an act of love and kindness to let him know where
I am.

I only ride alone when I can tell someone where I am going
and when I will be back. Then I stay on the Tevis trail, or the Folsom Lake
trail where there is a reasonable amount of recreational
use.
